| San Antonio’s Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Gives Pirates of all
Ages a Chance to Earn a Chest Full of Booty!
San Antonio – (June 16, 2005) - Ahoy All Ye Landlubbers! How well can you say “AAARGH?” Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum has its eyes out for a few good pirates. The first ever, totally fun, absolutely unique Ripley’s Talk Like a Pirate Contest is scheduled for 11 AM, June 25, 2005, at Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, 301 Alamo Plaza (Corner of Alamo Plaza & Crockett St.) Winners will take home a boatload of booty. Pirates will compete in three categories, kids 14 and under, men and women, with each offering a total of $600 in cash and prizes. Everyone who participates hauls in a free pass to the museum!
Pre-registration is not required. Pirates looking for a little extra help can stop by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! at 301 Alamo Plaza in the days leading up to the contest for a packet of tips on how to talk, look and act like a pirate. Those planning to compete should be at the museum no later than 10:30 on Saturday morning, June 25th. The official contest begins at 11 a.m.
Contestants have 30 seconds to put their best pirate forward. Attire is completely up to each contestant and judges will rate style, voice, and uniqueness.
